(Livonia, MI) Buy Michigan Now has announced it will partner with TGIF Entertainment Group of Farmington Hills to promote Michigan-based businesses at the upcoming MI Fest at Irish Hills in Brooklyn, Michigan.   The new outdoor music and camping festival is taking place on the grounds of Michigan International Speedway on September 17.

“We are delighted to work with a campaign that supports the awareness of Michigan products and services,” said George Gikas, President of TGIF Entertainment Group. “Buy Michigan Now has a set of standard criteria for what makes a company, business or group a Michigan concern, and we really respect those criteria and want to embrace them at MI Fest.”
Launched in 2007 by Lisa Diggs, Buy Michigan Now is a statewide initiative to inform, educate and encourage Michiganders, organizations and consumers alike, to support the local economy by purchasing products and services made in Michigan and from Michigan-based companies.
“The Buy Michigan Now campaign is dedicated to putting more Michiganders back to work by promoting local businesses and helping them grow.  We are always on the lookout for strong partnership opportunities.  TGIF Entertainment Group shares our passion for celebrating and promoting Michigan and I am excited to collaborate with them on the amazing new event they are creating and bringing to our great state,” said Lisa Diggs.
Sections of MI Fest will be branded with the Buy Michigan Now logo to spotlight Michigan companies taking part.  The campaign will also provide consultative support to MI Fest organizers to help them find Michigan-based suppliers and vendors.  In addition, MI Fest will have the opportunity to exhibit at the upcoming Buy Michigan Now Festival and preview for visitors some of the Michigan musical talent they intend to showcase at their event.  
The Buy Michigan Now Festival will run from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on Friday, August 5and Saturday, August 6 and Noon-5 p.m. on Sunday, August 7in downtown Northville, Michigan. More than 100 vendors and merchants are expected to participate and the festival is free to the public.
