(Livonia, April 17, 2013) – The Buy Michigan Now Festival celebrates its 5th anniversary in downtown Northville August 2-4, 2013. Hosted by the Buy Michigan Now campaign and downtown Northville, the family-friendly Festival with a mission will once again showcase a wide variety of Michigan businesses, products, entertainers, and educational opportunities. Vendor and sponsorship opportunities are now open for the 2013 Buy Michigan Now Festival.
“When we held our first festival back in 2008 there were only about forty companies. Now more than a hundred different businesses take part and get to introduce their products and services to thousands of visitors. The growth of this event, and of our statewide campaign, is clear evidence that people care about supporting Michigan companies. That means a brighter economic future for all of us, which is what our campaign is all about,” said Lisa Diggs.
The FREE weekend celebration focuses attention on Michigan-based businesses and locally-produced merchandise. In addition to hosting once again with downtown Northville, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Hiller’s Markets, The Catalyst Company, Mousetrap Mobile, and Tom Holzer Ford are returning as sponsors of the event. Sponsors aren’t the only ones returning to the Buy Michigan Now Festival. Exhibitors who have showcased at the event continue to receive success for their companies and products and attribute that success to the exposure the event receives and the dedication to Michigan businesses from the campaign overall. Many, like Ironcroft Publishing in Hartland, return year after year.
“When we signed up for the Buy Michigan Now festival we were not sure how successful we would be. With a broad Michigan Products theme at the festival we hoped to strike a chord with our books, but you never know how many people will turn out, if the visitors are in a buying mood, and what they are in the mood to buy. I'm happy to report Ironcroft and author J Ryan Fenzel had a fabulous weekend. The Buy Michigan Now Festival became our best-selling event to-date,” said Brian Shureb of Ironcroft Publishing.
During the festival, the Buy Michigan Now Campaign will continue its commitment to helping Michigan business succeed by awarding one new business-owner a chance to win exhibitor space at the 3-Day event and free marketing exposure worth more than $1,000. Entries for the 2nd Annual Up & Coming Entrepreneur Contest will be accepted from May 1-15 and contest rules will be announced soon.
While Michigan vendors set up shop under tents in the streets, the event also features live entertainment, scrumptious food, and a Kids Zone dedicated to family fun. Admission to the festival FREE, as is parking in the surrounding lots and structures. Main and Center streets in downtown Northville will be closed to allow for pedestrian traffic.
