Michigan ranked a top state for college students
MoneyRates.com released its newest research to help college students find the best place to study and acquire the job skills needed to compete in today’s job market. The Best States for College Students study ranks four-year colleges in all 50 states based on average cost, retention rate, student-to-faculty ratio, graduation rate and breadth of choice. Michigan placed in the top 10Â for its strong scores across all five factors analyzed, and tied with Washington for the #8 spot overall.
Leelanau & Keweenaw make Reader’s Digest most gorgeous peninsulas list
Appropriately enough, Michigan is the only state to have two peninsulas included in the Readers Digest list of gorgeous U.S. peninsulas. Leelanau was singled out for its stunning lakeshore, three lighthouses, and old fishing shanties. Keweenaw got the nod for Copper Country, its National Historic Park, lighthouses, and waterfalls, among other attractions.
