The shopping opportunities start extra early on Saturday with the opening of the popular Farmers Market in lots on S. Lafayette Street at 8am. Stock up on some fresh, seasonal produce, grab a little breakfast, and then enjoy the full fest as it opens up at 10am.

Whether you are an old pro, or have never had a chance to try axe-throwing in your life, we’ve got you covered. An expert coach from Warrior Throwing will be waiting to greet you on S. Lafayette, and guide you into this unique and time-honored sport. Try it on your own, or challenge a friend or family member. This activity is totally free compliments of Buy Michigan Now.
10:00am-8:00pm Pottery Project
Art project with The Painted Croc Art Gallery and Studio. For a nominal fee, guests can work with artist Alaina Bennett to customize a pottery piece. Each piece will then be glazed and fired in the studio’s kiln and ready for pick up in their South Lyon studio at a later date. Kids especially will have a great time making something special for themselves, or to give as a gift.

Since our beginning, Darwin Mamassian has been bring his soulful talent to the Buy Michigan Now Fest. This singer/songwriter draws from the influences of folk, blues, rock, and Americana.

Reading local authors is a cool experience, and so is meeting them, talking about the inspiration behind their books, and getting a book or two signed. This is a great place to find unique and special gifts. Authors scheduled to appear at this time include Michael Asselin, Cynthia Burke, Dr. Diane P. Fleming, Lynne Golodner, L.R. Haines, F.P. LaRue, S.J. Lomas, Donovan M. Neal, Katherine Billings Palmer, and Suse Wilcox.
12:30am-3:30pm Music by Donnie Hopps
Returning for his third straight year, Donnie Hopps is a solo acoustic guitar player and singer, covering classic rock, and folky, older country songs. These are songs that most everyone can recognize, and often sing along with. His shows are laid back and familiar, sometimes described as “friends around a campfire.” We certainly won’t need a campfire, but dial up some friends to hang out and sing along.

We’re delighted to be welcoming this trio of veteran musicians back to BMNFest. They will have you wondering whether to sing along, get up and dance, or just relax. Expect a high energy mix of blues, rock, and soul.
