One of my favorite occurrences is when two great Michigan companies partner together to create a unique and exceptional product. Such is the case with the collaboration between Grand Rapids neighbors, Founders Brewing Company and Ferris Coffee & Nut, that resulted in the production of MF Donkey Stout. The product has been around a well-received for a while now, but it is about to become available in a take home version for the first time.

Popular at popular at the Grand Rapids brewery’s annual Black Party, MF Donkey Stout, will now be bottled for the first time. It becomes the third release in the taproom-only Mothership Series, which also includes Red’s Rye IPA and Sleeper Cell. This news is an especially sweet treat for coffee lovers. The bold stout is brewed with locally-roasted Mackinac Fudge coffee.

“MF Donkey Stout is a taproom favorite created by our R&D Brewer, David ‘Diamond’ Deschaine, in collaboration with our good friends at Ferris Coffee & Nut,” said Brewmaster, Jeremy Kosmicki in a statement.

“It’s got so much MF Mackinac Fudge flavor, yet it’s perfectly balanced by the roasted malts, coffee and just the right touch of hops. We usually have to wait for our annual Black Party to enjoy this one, so we’re excited to take home bottles of it!”

It will be available exclusively in the Detroit and Grand Rapids taprooms in 6-pack bottles and on draft beginning Sept. 28.
