Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is a quasi-state agency that exists to help Michigan’s economy flourish through investments in communities, connecting businesses to potential new clients, promoting the state’s image as a business destination and a variety of other services. Its latest endeavor is the release of a new podcast aimed at global trends with an eye on implications and prospects here in Michigan.

Called The Michigan Opportunity, it features discussions with Michigan business leaders and innovators about how the state is driving job growth and business investment, our entrepreneurial ecosystem, creating and enhancing vibrant communities, and helping to attract and retain a talented and diverse workforce.

The podcast is hosted by MEDC Senior Advisor for Trends and Development, Ed Clemente, who explores Michigan’s economic trends through conversations with a broad list of subject matter experts. The premier episode features a conversation with Gerry Anderson, executive chairman of DTE Energy Corporation, who shares his insights on Michigan’s economic recovery in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
