Over the years, the Frankenmuth Cheese Haus has become a Michigan’s Little Bavaria institution. 2018 marked its 50th anniversary, and included a move to a much larger location at 545 S. Main St. Naturally, its most famous resident came along to reside outside the new digs, and now he’s celebrating a big birthday too.

I’m speaking, of course, of the famous Cheese Haus Mouse. This adorable mascot of sorts, has been a fixture in family photos since long before we started calling them selfies. Now it’s the Mouse’s turn to celebrate a golden anniversary, so his friends at the Cheese Haus have decided to gift him with a proper name, but they want your help.

Since January 20, 2020, the Cheese Haus team has been collecting name suggestions. They have now completed the arduous task of whittling an impressive list of 5,412 options down to just four choices. The finalists are: Klaus, Frankie, Charlie, or Haus. Now it’s up to the public to decide.

You can vote your favorite by coming into the store or online via their Facebook page. Once the Mouse finally has a name, look for more celebrations to come.
