National Geographic placed the remote Lake Superior island on its recently released “Best of the World” list for 2021. The list includes 25 spots around the globe considered to be “amazing places to inspire future journeys and remind us why we love to travel.” In naming Isle Royale to the list, National Geographic describes the island as “a best-kept secret of a national park” and “edge-of-nowhere remote.”
