(Livonia, April 27, 2021) – Due to complications associated with the pandemic, the City of Northville has declined to host the 2021 Buy Michigan Now Festival. Therefore, Buy Michigan Now is sadly cancelling its event for the second consecutive year. This was to be the twelfth year of the event in Northville. It was originally scheduled for July 31 – August 2, 2020. Prior to this cancellation, it had been rescheduled for August 6-8, 2021.

“We are very disappointed to have to cancel our fest again, but safety remains our top priority,” said Lisa Diggs, founder of the Buy Michigan Now campaign. “In the meantime, we will keep fighting the good fight to promote buying locally in other ways, and to get our economy bustling again.”

The annual festival is typically the culmination of Buy Michigan Week. That initiative will still take place August 2 – August 8. During that time, Michigan businesses are encouraged to offer special deals. Simultaneously, shoppers are asked to make an extra effort to learn and buy more locally. Without the festival, Buy Michigan Now will use its website, newsletter, and social media to promote the special week.

The Buy Michigan Now campaign is made possible through corporate sponsorship and membership fees from participating businesses. Email info@buymichigannow.com to discuss these partnership opportunities. Michigan-based organizations may join the campaign online.
