(Livonia, July 1, 2019) – Buy Michigan Now is getting ready for its 11th Buy Michigan Now Festival in Downtown Northville. The campaign’s mission is to promote buying locally, so the event only includes Michigan-based businesses. It’s coming up fast on August 2-4, 2019, so only limited vendor and sponsorship options are still available.

“We are so excited to once again be celebrating Buy Michigan Week with a great big party in Northville,” said Lisa Diggs, founder of the Buy Michigan Now campaign. “Every year it is a delight to see people come back for their favorites and discover brand new Michigan-made products.”

The annual celebration is a weekend filled with fun activities that additionally reinforces the campaign’s mission. It is also the finale to Buy Michigan Week each year.

Festival Hours

The Buy Michigan Now Festival is scheduled to run from:

  • 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. on Friday, August 2
  • 1o a.m.-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 3
  • 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, August 4

Admission and parking are free for the event.

Michigan Beverage Garden

The Michigan Beverage Garden can be found in Town Square. This year it includes Faygo pop in addition to the traditional Michigan-made craft beer and wines. Beverage sales go toward the Living and Learning Enrichment Center, so it’s also a good cause. The center builds social and job skills for individuals with autism. The nonprofit will soon be opening an upscale shop in Downtown Northville too, with Michigan-made foods, art, and other locally-produced goods, It’s called Mod Market, and will provide job experience for the center’s clients who choose to work there. Additionally, for their artists, it is a place to sell their work alongside the other Michigan-made products. Buy Michigan Now is sponsoring a pop-up shop for the market at this year’s festival as a preview of what’s to come.

Music

To complement the refreshing cold beverages, Town Square will also heat up with live entertainment from talented local musicians like Soulshiners, Alexa Delly, 3rd Degree Byrnes, Wisteria, Delta Twins, Gerry Bee and the Bluescasters, and more. The bluesy and soulful David Gerald Band will close things out on Sunday afternoon with their tenth straight festival appearance.

Kids Zone

Family fun is on tap in the Stemville Kids Zone, located on Center Street, where youngsters can play games, do arts and crafts, get their faces painted, and discover other fun surprises.
