(Livonia, July 18, 2018) – Community Choice Credit Union (CCCU) is the latest sponsor of the 10th Buy Michigan Now Festival. The popular event returns to Downtown Northville August 3-5, 2018. Uniquely, it exists to promote buying from Michigan-based businesses. CCCU decided to partner with Buy Michigan Now in order to be a catalyst for local spending.

Community Choice Family Fun Day

CCCU will host a Free Family Fun Day at its Northville Member Center on Saturday, July 28 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The event will feature the Mac Shack food truck, face-painting and balloon-making. Guests have a chance to win books of BMNFest Bucks to use at the upcoming festival. The center is located at 41660 Six Mile Rd in Northville, Michigan.

Festival Hours

The festival happens at the same time annually, as a celebration of Buy Michigan Week. The 2018 hours are below.

  • 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. on Friday, August 3
  • 1o a.m.-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 4
  • 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, August 5

No tickets are required. Entry and parking are both free for the event.

Beverage Garden & Main Stage

Town Square is home to a Michigan Beverage Garden, where beer and wine is sold for charity. The available beverages are all made in the state. Guests can drink for a good cause because sales benefit One Earth Writing. The Main Stage lineup includes fest favorites Soulshiners, Alexa Delly, and Delta Twins. The Trey Connor Band makes its first fest appearance. 3rd Degree Byrnes, Taylor Taylor, and Ian Stewart will also take the stage. Lastly, the soulful David Gerald Band will close things out on Sunday afternoon.

Kids Zone

Family fun is on tap in the Kids Zone, located on Center Street. There, youngsters can play games, do arts and crafts, and get their faces painted. Additionally they may find a mascot or two.

New Additions

As part of the new partnership, and to encourage spending, CCCU is giving away BMNFest Bucks. The coupons can be used like cash to buy from participating vendors. There are some other exciting new additions this year too. For example, there will be a cornhole tournament and a silent auction. The silent auction will have autographed sports items, Michigan-made products, unique experiences, gift cards, and other fun stuff. Businesses can donate by contacting Kathy@BuyMichiganNow.com.

Additionally,  Amigo Mobility scooters are available for rental or sale. In fact, the scooters are made in Michigan. The cornhole tournament is sponsored by Mutha Shuckers, also builds its custom boards right here in Michigan. The tournament will take place on Saturday, August 4. Registration for up to forty teams will be in person.
